Last week our Granny passed away, she was also known as “Mama Hill “. It was a time filled with strong emotions, one emotion being a lightness of spirit amongst all of us in her release of pain.
My granny’s life was not without challenges. As a young woman, during World War II she was evacuated to Jamaica. She returned to Gib and started a family with Grandpa Joe. They had, eight children. She was later widowed and raised the family entirely on her own.
I spent a lot of quality time with her during her last years, one memory that will stick with me forever was her story of when she was at school where she would top her class at drama, dance and sports. The teachers (or nuns at the time), would frustratingly tell her again and again “Miss McMahon you certainly don’t show the same passion for your numbers!”
So in life nowadays we have SO many opportunities to exercise our strengths, don’t we? In a job, a hobby, so many! None in our granny’s times.
Strengths and weaknesses, and left brain –v- right brain came to mind, so after a little googling………………………………………….

So it’s all about promoting and exercising your strengths and accepting your weaknesses right?
